The Colorado state legislature has approved a bill that significantly restricts access to medical marijuana. If enacted, House Bill 1317 would specify a THC dosage amount and require new medical and mental health reviews for patients seeking medical marijuana prescriptions. The bill would additionally institute new packaging requirements for concentrated THC products and create a tracking system for patient purchases. Bill advocates cited rising rates of extracted marijuana product use in Colorado teens as the impetus for the new restrictions.
