Researchers at the University of California San Diego have initiated the first placebo-controlled randomized trial investigating the efficacy of cannabis products for the treatment of acute migraine. Trial participants will be randomized into 4 study groups (placebo, THC only, CBD only, and THC and CBD) and monitored for short-term migraine outcomes such as pain relief and nausea intensity. The study is expected to be completed in late 2021.
